Update

Hello all!!
Obviously I am not good at keeping a blog! The clinic is doing well. I have recently hired another nurse, to head up our community health program. We will be doing more education in the community. This past month we started a prental program. It was a success! We hope to have a lot more women this month! Each month we will need hygiene and baby items to give the mothers in the program, if any one would like to donate please contact me!!
We are seeing more and more cases of HIV in our community, we are trying to educate, but it is a battle!! The patients don't believe you when you tell them they are positive, they say that it is not real, just a form of politics!!
We are still in need of a washing machine!! Also need to complete our clinic compound wall, about half way there. Laboratory seems to be a never ending project! However, we know in His time all things are possible! Continue to keep this ministry in your prayers! We have a lot we would like to offer our patients, that is not a reality yet. They deserve the very best care!
Im still working on the art of attaching pictures, so there will not be any on this post, if I want to get it out tonight!

                                                                      New Life!!

Spent the day yesterday going to a seminar up in the mountains in a place called Oriani or Pine forest.. Seemed like we left haiti and went to another country. I have never seen such beauty in Haiti, it was freezing! I shivered all day long. It was a long 4 hr ride there, and then 4hrs back home. We had a good time, and appreciate the people of CAM who invited us.
Jessica and I came home so tired, fell into bed around 10:30, to get a call at 11;00, one of our workers sister was in labor!!
After waiting all night, a beautiful baby girl was born at 5:45 am.. After some much needed coffee, we are hoping to get a little nap today! Thankful that the Lord helped everything go smoothly!

March Mania!!

It has been a very week here in the clinic. We have had one accident right after the other. Friday night was spent suturing and cleaning wounds from a knife fight amongst young guys. All this week we have seen some really bad cases.
It is the time of year that the "Ra Ra" celebrates, and unfortunatly we had a nice young man from our neighborhood, killed this week as a result of the ra ra. Please keep his family in your prayers.
Please pray for "june" a young girl who came in this morning all banged up, with gas burns on her arms and leg, she was on a motorcyle yesterday with two other adults and a small child coming home from kindergarden, when a cement mixer, ran into them. The mixer chopped the small child up, instantly flipped the moto, the choffer and other adult died, "june" was the only survivor.
We were able to talk to her today about the Lord and His grace in sparing her life.
It is very dangerous here to ride motorcycles, but for most it is there only way of transportation.

Had a wonderful service, and a young man was saved during the service.  Yesterday, I was able to lead my next door neighbor to the Lord.
This week we have had 14 people accept Christ!! God is at work.  Tomorrow is Monday, back to the clinic!!

We have had a very very busy day, but very productive.  Seven people were saved in evangelism today! One of which was a patient of ours at the clinic. He has just had an operation in november. I had been witnessing to him in the clinic, but he had not made a decision yet. Today was His day of salvation! He accepted Christ as his saviour today! He is in his 70's, and right after getting saved informed us that he had a house about 1 hour from here in the mountains, where he went to conduct voodoo ceromonies. He asked that we go help him get rid of it all! After a busy day evangelism, we were tired, but would never let that opprotunity pass by! We loaded up, and drove the 1 hour up the mountain, to a small house out in the middle of nowhere, where he went to spend months on end, sacrificing to the devil. A place where his children had never even been!
We arrived around 1:30 and it took until around 4 to completly take everything out of the house, and to burn it all! What a moment it was, to see this man so late in his life accept Jesus, and decide to take another road!  Please keep him in your prayers, the road ahead will not be easy, but our God is Faithful!!

Dr Elysee  is a huge asset to our clinic team. He began working with us in April of 2012. He is our medical director and is helping greatly with the progress of our clinic. His house and practice were destroyed by the 2010 earthquake. Since then, he and his family have been renting a small house, but are now being asked to move out. They have no home to go to, and do not have the funds to rebuild there home that was destroyed by the earthquake.
After the earthquake Dr Elysee helped hundreds of haitians that were very severe recieve vital operations. Organized and worked with american surgeons around the clock, doing his part to help his people. He is a "earthquake Hero". He sacrificed so much to help his patients, then and now. He will do anything to see that his patients recieve the best of care possible.
As part of our HGM family, we are trying to do our part to help him rebuild his home. The clinic is trying to do its part to contribute to the rebuilding.  We ask if you have the possibilty to help with the rebuilding of his home, do so!! Many victims have recieved free homes, and yet here is one who is a faithful servant to his country, still in need!!
If you are interested in contributing to "Elysee House Fund" please contact me- April at hessjoel@yahoo.com  or mail your contribution to Haiti Gospel Mission  ( Box 669, Grifton NC 28530)  or contribute on paypal.
Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Belated New Year From Haiti Gospel Mission Clinic!!

The year 2012 was a good year for the clinic, a year for improvement, overcoming many obstacles, meeting many needs, and sharing the love of Christ to the community! To finish our year off we had a christmas party for all mission employees! We had a great time of fun and fellowship!
We played a game of " decorating the tree's" Where the clinic workers decorated there tree ( Dr Elysee) and the school workers decorated one of the school teachers! Our tree one the prize!!
Below you will find some pictures attached of our party, and our world class christmas tree!!
