Dr Elysee is a huge asset to our clinic team. He began working with us in April of 2012. He is our medical director and is helping greatly with the progress of our clinic. His house and practice were destroyed by the 2010 earthquake. Since then, he and his family have been renting a small house, but are now being asked to move out. They have no home to go to, and do not have the funds to rebuild there home that was destroyed by the earthquake.
After the earthquake Dr Elysee helped hundreds of haitians that were very severe recieve vital operations. Organized and worked with american surgeons around the clock, doing his part to help his people. He is a "earthquake Hero". He sacrificed so much to help his patients, then and now. He will do anything to see that his patients recieve the best of care possible.
As part of our HGM family, we are trying to do our part to help him rebuild his home. The clinic is trying to do its part to contribute to the rebuilding. We ask if you have the possibilty to help with the rebuilding of his home, do so!! Many victims have recieved free homes, and yet here is one who is a faithful servant to his country, still in need!!
If you are interested in contributing to "Elysee House Fund" please contact me- April at hessjoel@yahoo.com or mail your contribution to Haiti Gospel Mission ( Box 669, Grifton NC 28530) or contribute on paypal.

Merry Belated Christmas and Happy Belated New Year From Haiti Gospel Mission Clinic!!
The year 2012 was a good year for the clinic, a year for improvement, overcoming many obstacles, meeting many needs, and sharing the love of Christ to the community! To finish our year off we had a christmas party for all mission employees! We had a great time of fun and fellowship!
We played a game of " decorating the tree's" Where the clinic workers decorated there tree ( Dr Elysee) and the school workers decorated one of the school teachers! Our tree one the prize!!
Below you will find some pictures attached of our party, and our world class christmas tree!!

Ti Cheri
Meet "ti cheri", a little boy whom I just met this week. He was brought to my house on thursday night, someone had thrown a rock and hit him in the back of the head, and he needed stiches.
We are calling him "little dear" because noone really knows his name. His mother abandonned him since he was just a small toddler, and he has been living in a little shack out in the weeds. A neighbor lady has always checked on him, and takes him food as she can. I just recently found out several other women from a local church take turns taking food out to him.
I was told, he has nothing in the little shack, no clothes shoes, nothing. Apparently his mother is still around the neighborhood, but doesnt have anything to do with him.
Here in haiti, mentally handicapped children are seen as useless, and unwanted. He is severly malnurished, and can wear michaels 3t clothes( they think he is around 12 or 13).
We had quite the adventure trying to get him to allow us to suture his wound. Joel sat in front of him and read to him the story of Jesus feeding the five thousand. He was excited and repeated some of the story! He had never worn shorts before, so it took a little coaxing to get him to put them on, then when he did, we told him how good he looked, He was so excited, began laughing and jumping up and down!!
Today we were able to clean and dress the wound, and to get him on some vitamins and healthy shakes. Since his "rock" incident the lady that had been taking food to him, has taken him in to her home to care for him!
Pray that we can help her be a blessing to this "Little Dear".

Early morning Suprise!
Tuesday, August 21, 2012
The
clinic is functioning well, although we always see less patients during the
summer months it seems. We have been seeing more positive cases of Aids
recently. It has been a huge opportunity to council and pray with patients
however, we ask that you please pray for
our clinic and its future.
The clinic is such an influence on the community,
but we are struggling to keep up with the demands of our patients, mainly due
to the lack of funding. We want to provide quality health services to the
community, but fall short of our budget every month. We have big visions for the clinic, but are
lacking in monthly support for it.
We ask that you spread the word about the
clinic, and if possible give towards the monthly budget!!

Urgent Need!!
We have four windows that need glass in them. They are allowing furry friends to enter into the clinic! Along with dust and rain. Each window will cost approxiamtly $80 us. The total for the four would be- $320. If anyone is interested in giving towards this project, please contact Sandra at sandrasc45@yahoo.com
Thank you for your support in the ministry of the clinic!

Ti Madame Update
Ti madame went home this past week. She threw all her exams away, when I asked her why, she said that the doctors told her there was nothing they could do for the cancer, She was in God's hands! She went home trusting that her great physician will heal her! Please keep her in your prayers.
